Vagamon & the Kerala hills
Kerala’s quiet hill town, where the meadows roll, the pines whisper and the mist clocks in before you do.
Pine, tea and zero notifications.
Everyone does Munnar. You’re not everyone. Vagamon is the hill station Kerala keeps to itself: meadows that look photoshopped, a pine forest that feels ancient, and three hilltops sacred to three faiths within a few kilometres of each other. We end with a slow night on the backwaters, because it would be rude not to.
- Your idea of adventure is a second cup of chai with a view
- You want green, quiet and properly unplugged
- You’ve been to Kerala for a wedding and never for yourself
A sneak peek
Day by day
Every day has built-in rest. Timings bend for weather and moods; sunsets don’t.
- Day 01
Kochi to the clouds
Pick-up from Kochi airport and a 3-hour drive into the hills through rubber and spice country. Check in to a plantation bungalow. Evening chai on the verandah while the mist rolls in like it owns the place.
- Day 02
Meadows and the pine forest
A morning on the rolling Vagamon meadows, then a walk through the pine forest. Afternoon by the lake, with optional tandem paragliding when the weather plays along.
- Day 03
Three hills, three faiths
An early climb up Kurisumala, the cross-topped pilgrim hill, then Thangal Para’s Sufi shrine and the rock temple on Murugan Mala. Afternoon tea-estate walk and tasting with a planter. Evening: learn to make appam and stew.
- Day 04
Down to the backwaters
Drive to Kumarakom on Vembanad Lake and board a private houseboat. Sunset cruise, karimeen pollichathu for dinner, and a night of absolutely no traffic noise.
- Day 05
Canoe, coffee, goodbye
Optional dawn canoe ride through village canals, breakfast on deck, then a 2-hour drive to Kochi airport.

Your trip lead
A Pravaa trip lead travels with the group from pick-up to drop: local, unflappable, and suspiciously good at finding the best chai on the route.
