Status of the trip you kept postponing:DELAYED

Delayed,not cancelled.

For everyone who spent the last decade being the responsible one. Offbeat India, planned end to end, with a trip lead who’s done it a hundred times.

See the trips
Travel, unpaused

You took the scenic route to the scenic route.

First it was board exams. Then the first job, the better job, wedding season, EMIs, school admissions and your parents’ check-ups. Fair — somebody had to hold the fort. Now it’s your turn to leave it for a bit.

Find my trip

प्रवास pravaas (n.) — a journey away from home. You’ve been home long enough.

Remember the Goa plan that died in the group chat?

Twelve people. Four polls. One “next year, pakka.” We don’t do group chats. We do departures — small groups, fixed dates, everything sorted before you’ve finished saying “let me check at home.”

Things you’ve said since roughly 2010:

  1. “Next year, pakka.”
  2. “After the appraisal.”
  3. “Once the EMI is done.”
  4. “When the kids are a bit older.”
  5. “Let’s discuss on the group.”
  6. “When things settle down.”

Things never fully settle down. Bags, however, do get packed.

Pick your escape

Offbeat, not off-grid. Every trip is fully planned, comes with a trip lead and a printed Field Guide, and puts you in real beds with hot water — yes, even in the mountains.

How it works

We plan. You pack. That’s the whole deal.

No 2 a.m. spreadsheets, no cousin’s friend’s itinerary, no forty-seven browser tabs. Here’s what actually happens.

01

Tell us what you missed.

A 15-minute call. Mountains or rivers? Silence or street food? Solo, with your partner, or with the college gang you’ve been promising since 2012?

Two people sharing cutting chai
02

We do the spreadsheet.

Routes, stays, trains, permits, buffer days and which dhaba is actually good. One tidy plan instead of forty-seven tabs.

03

Your Field Guide arrives.

A printed pocket guide for your exact trip: what to pack, what to eat, what to say, and where your phone will (blissfully) stop working.

View along a train at an Indian railway station
04

Your trip lead takes over.

They meet you at the airport or station and handle the rest — drivers, delays, permits and every “one more photo, please”.

05

Come back slightly insufferable.

With stories you’ll tell at every family function from now on. We apologise to your relatives in advance.

The fine print

The fine print that’s actually fine.

We’ve done the hostel-bunk, fourteen-hour-bus phase on your behalf. Here’s what we built instead.

Real beds. Hot water.

Heritage stays, plantation bungalows and handpicked homestays. Adventure in the day, a good mattress at night.

Small groups of 8–12

Enough people for a proper antakshari. Not enough for a WhatsApp group with admins.

A trip lead on every departure

Part guide, part fixer, part friend who knows exactly which chai stall is worth the detour.

Dates that respect your leave

Departures are planned around long weekends and festival breaks, so your leave balance survives the year.

Solo is completely normal

Plenty of travellers come alone. Twin-share with someone on your wavelength, or pay a little more for your own room.

A pace you’ll actually enjoy

Built-in rest hours, buffer days in the mountains and a slower option on every trek. Nobody gets left behind for a sunrise.

The travel guide

Every trip comes with a travel guide. Two, actually.

01 · The human one

Your trip lead

Someone who has done this route many times, knows the locals by first name and stays with you from pick-up to drop.

02 · The paper one

The Field Guide

A printed pocket book made for your trip: routes, maps, packing lists, food to try and phrases that get you extra chai.

Postcards from travellers

“I’d planned Spiti four times since 2011. This was the first time I actually saw it — and I didn’t have to plan a single thing.”

Ritika, Pune · Spiti Valley

“I came alone, terrified of being the awkward one. Came back with seven friends and a group chat that’s genuinely fun.”

Arjun, Bengaluru · Chopta & Tungnath

“My kids asked where I was going. I said “out”. Best answer I’ve given in fifteen years.”

Meenal, Ahmedabad · Vagamon

“Real beds, hot water and the wildest sunrise of my life. Turns out you can have both.”

Sandeep, Gurugram · Varanasi

FAQs

Questions you were too polite to ask.

Still unsure? Write to us below. A real human will reply — not a bot named Riya.

It’s the whole point. Plenty of our travellers’ last “trip” was a cousin’s wedding. Your trip lead handles the logistics; you handle the looking-out-of-windows.

If you can climb three floors when the lift is out of order, you can do most of our trips. Treks are clearly marked on every trip page, and there’s always a slower, chai-heavy option.

Absolutely. We’ll pair you with a same-gender roommate for twin sharing, or you can pay a single supplement for your own room.

Stays, internal transport, most meals, permits, experiences, a trip lead and your printed Field Guide. Getting to the starting point is on you — but we’ll happily help you book it.

Yes. Partner, family, or the college-gang reunion that’s been “on” since 2012 — tell us your dates and we’ll build the trip around them.

Life happens — we know that better than most. Tell us as early as you can and we’ll help you move dates. Full terms are shared before you pay anything.

Plan my trip

Write to us like it’s 2004.

Tell us what you’ve been putting off. A real person will call you back with a plan — no pressure, no “only 2 seats left!!!”

We only use this to plan your trip. No spam, ever.
